About the Role
The Help Desk Support Assistant will report to the Systems Administrator Team Lead and act as the first point of contact for resolving user issues across the Sacco. This is a front-line ICT support position responsible for logging, tracking, and escalating technical requests to keep business operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users and resolve ICT service requests and incidents promptly
- Log, track, and manage support tickets through the Service Desk system, following ITIL best practices
- Troubleshoot issues involving computers, printers, peripherals, and network connectivity
- Support and maintain the Core Banking System and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, escalating complex problems where necessary
- Keep accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions to support audit and compliance needs
- Work closely with the wider ICT team to share knowledge and maintain smooth operations
- Train and guide users on ICT systems, applications, and security practices
- Monitor ICT systems proactively to catch and resolve issues before they affect operations
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or a Diploma in ICT with at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+/N+, LPIC-1, or CCNA are an added advantage
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in an ICT support or helpdesk role
- Familiarity with Service Desk systems such as ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus or similar tools
- Working knowledge of a Core Banking System is required
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills for computers, printers, and network operations
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, along with a willingness to keep learning new technologies
