Program Focus

The program is aimed at Africans with software development experience and entrepreneurial interest who want to build AI-driven products and services that compete on a global stage.

It emphasizes individuals at the idea stage — you don't need an existing startup or university degree. Over 7 months, participants form teams, validate real AI business ideas, and build minimum viable products (MVPs).

Location

The program is Pan-African, recruiting from multiple African countries. Training and incubation take place in Ghana at MEST's facilities.

About the Program

MEST redesigned its flagship Training Program (running since 2008) with a sharp focus on AI in 2026, launching the first cohort of the MEST AI Startup Program. Now in its second year, this is how MEST turns ambitious individuals into founding teams and promising ideas into investor-ready ventures.

Over 7 months, you will form a team, validate a real AI business idea, build and deploy an MVP, and learn directly from world-class practitioners. The most promising ventures enter a 4-month incubation phase focused on scaling, acquiring real customers, and pitching for pre-seed investment.
